As part of the Centre's effort to promote cultural sensitivity through experience, we are planning a number of cultural tours.

On 19th March, 2000 we organised a cultural tour for ACS (I) to Melaka, to learn about how the Chinese and local traditions amalgamated into the unique Peranakan or Straits Chinese culture, which retains much of the values, rituals and symbolisms of its eastern roots.

A total of 38 teachers and students enjoyed a fun and informative Sunday, savouring Peranakan food, visiting old buildings, learning about the Peranakan lifestyles and traditions, visiting a 'kueh' (confectionery) factory and visiting the oldest Chinese temple (Cheng Hoon Teng) in Malaysia.
